Although the official start to summer isn’t for another 11 days, I’ve been hoping that being home from school since May would have my days consisting of tanning, shorts and tank tops, and beach days, but it has actually been quite the opposite. The East Coast the past month has been beyond dreary consisting of weeks on end of rain, thunderstorms, and clouds. While I’m still waiting to dress for the warmer weather, at least I can build my shopping cart in the meantime, so here are some things I’m looking to purchase for when these days turn a little better.
Hillhouse Azalea Dress: It took me a while to find this dress until I realized it’s been a hot commodity and sold out everywhere. I love this new style and print that Hillhouse recently released and think it’s suitable for so many occasions. With an internship I started just last week, I think this dress is very appropriate for the office but also easy to throw on for an impromptu dinner.
Yellow Gingham Bikini: I can’t remember the last time I purchased a bikini but I think it may have been last summer, meaning I’m probably due for a new one. MC2 St. Barth is a European brand that I discovered in Italy one summer where I purchased an amazing royal blue one piece that is by far one of the most flattering suits I own. I love gingham and I love yellow so maybe this will be a soon-to-be purchase.
J. Crew Hanover Poplin Top: J. Crew has lately been having such a great selection on top of amazing sales. Their ads on my Instagram feed get me specifically, which is where I found this top, and to my delight clicked on it to see it was $35 off so I instantly purchased. It gives Doen for a much more affordable price tag. I think this is an easy top to throw on for class while looking more sophisticated and put together, or just easy to throw on with a pair of jeans and ballet flats.
J. Crew Linen Pants: Another J. Crew find, I came across these linen pants after visiting their store in person and these are beyond soft and comfortable. I envision throwing them on over bikini bottoms after a day by the pool or beach or as a comfy outfit post shower with a simple white tee.
Madewell Smocked Dress: I go to London on Sunday and I’m looking for pieces I can purchase for my trip and thought this dress would be a great day time outfit. I went to try it on in person, and maybe it was just the really bad lighting in the fitting room that made me look washed out and pale paired with the dress, but I wasn’t loving it as much in person. I think I may order it though and give it a second try because I think with a good tan, this dress would be perfect.
Hillhouse Skirt: I’ve had my eye on this skirt for sooooo long and I’m not sure why I haven’t pulled the trigger yet. I think another proper option for the office paired with a white tee, my chunky Roxanne Assouline heart necklace, and ballet flats would be super cute but is also just an excellent staple to have in general.
That’s all for now!
